Joshua Joseph Cerra, of Plymouth formerly of Hanson, died suddenly on October 29th at the age of 22. He is survived by his father Paul Cerra and his wife Melissa Johnston-Cerra, his mother Paulette Burton-Cerra of Billerica, his sister Jessica Cerra of Hanson, his stepbrothers Jason Badgio of London and Kurt Tarvis of Hanson and his half-sister Ann Marie Fischer of Hamilton. He also leaves his grandfather Joseph Cerra, his aunt Carol Castagnetti and his uncles Joseph Cerra and Richard Cerra and many cousins.
Joshua was born in Boston and graduated from Whitman-Hanson Evening School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and enjoyed gaming and camping.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday November 4th from 3 to 7 PM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth. Services and burial are private. Hanson – Josephine “Tina” (Longo) Kay of Hanson died peacefully on November 27, 2013 at the age of 97. She was the loving wife of the late Walter Kay with whom she shared more than 64 years of marriage.

She was the proud mother of two sons, George Kay and his wife Suzanne of Hingham and Dennis Kay and his wife Helen of North Reading. She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Tina was a dedicated homemaker and successful owner of her own business, Tina’s Antiques.

Her services will be held on Tuesday December 3 at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St. Hanson. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM in St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held Monday December 2 from 4:00-7:00 PM.

Hanson – Steven B. Robbins 59, of Hanson died November 27 at his residence of natural causes.

Born in Brockton, he was the second son of Theodore and Christine (Paine) Robbins

Steven was a graduate of South Shore Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1973 and worked as a custom cabinet maker. He was a skilled woodworker and had enjoyed creating custom pieces.

Steve was a former member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association, and had enjoyed spending time with family and friends on Duxbury Beach. He had also enjoyed assisting family and friends at New England Dragway.

He leaves behind his daughter Nicole (Robbins) Brant and her husband Shawn of Lakeville, his grandchildren David Hill, Aidan Brant and Nathan Brant all of Lakeville, his brothers Theodore Robbins, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Westport, Daniel Robbins and his wife Karen of West Bridgewater and Charles Robbins of Rochester. Steven also leaves behind nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service to be held Thursday December 5 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday December 4 from 5-8 PM.

Frances Jane “ Fran “ ( Hurney ) Stetson a resident of Stoughton for over 55 years passed away after a brief illness with her children by her side on Wednesday December 11, 2013. She was 80 years old and the beloved wife of the late Howard E. “ Howie” Stetson. She is survived by her loving children, Frederick T. Stetson and his wife Deborah of Forestdale,MA, Brian P. Stetson and his wife Cindee of Madison,Alabama , Gary E. Stetson of Hanson, Kevin J. Stetson of Stoughton and Sharon A. Hutchinson and her husband Lynn Paul of Lakeville,MA. Other survivors include her four grandchildren, Adam K. Stetson, Meghan E. Stetson, Erin A. Stetson, Lindsey R. Finlay and several nieces, nephews,cousins and friends. She was also a sister to the late Rita E. Prewitt and husband Raymond, Virginia B. Ryan and husband George and Marie E. Gallagher and husband Francis.

OFD,Fran moved to Stoughton in the early 1960’s. She was a beloved daughter to the late Francis J. and Rita E. (Fitzsimmons) Hurney. She attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of the Jeremiah Hurley High School.

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Sunday December 15, 2013 from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Cremation to follow. NOTE: Her graveside memorial service and interment of Cremains will be held at a later date in the Spring.

Robert N. Glauben, age 74, of Hanson, formerly of Pembroke, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

He was born on December 30, 1938, in Pembroke, the son of the late Jacob F. & Irene (Clark) Glauben. Robert was a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, Class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960. For 31 years, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was a lifelong Red Sox fan.

Robert was the loving father of Victoria Doherty & her husband Tim of Billerica and beloved brother of Avis Umbriana of Pembroke, John H. Glauben of Pembroke and the late Elizabeth Williams, Beverly Rupple, Mary Withers, Richard Glauben and Jacob Glauben, Jr. He is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews.

A visitation period will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.

Interment services will be private.

Hanson – Peter Joseph DePina 88, a longtime resident of Hanson, entered into internal rest on Tuesday January 14, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to Dominga M. (Correia) DePina.

His services will be held Tuesday January 21 at 8 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Hanson. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Monday January 20 from 4-8 PM.

Hanson – Geraldine R. (Browne) Bemis Perron 80, died Thursday January 30 after a period of failing health. She was the former wife of the late William W. Perron, Jr.

Born and raised in Whitman, one of ten children, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Mary B. (Wagner) Browne and a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1952.

As a resident of Whitman she had worked several years, until 1978, for the former Commonwealth Shoe & Leather Company of Whitman. Prior to her retirement in 2002, she had worked as a Reproduction Services Supervisor for Bridgewater State College.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and truly enjoyed the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving children Donna Balkcom and her husband David of Hanson and James Perron and his wife Erin of Norwell, and her grandchildren David Balkcom, Jr., Cheryl Balkcom, Jamie Bairos, Stacy Morgan, James Perron II and Jacqueline Perron. She is also survived by her 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Clyde Browne, Marion Phinney, Evelyn Donaldson, Rena Coates, Russell Browne, Gladys Browne, Donald Browne, Earl Browne and Shirley Evans.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday February 4 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Monday February 3 from 4 – 7 PM.

Francis T. Murphy,Jr.,70, of Hanson, passed away on Friday March 14th, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Maureen (Shea) Murphy.and son of the late William, Sr. and Marjorie (Turner) Murphy. He was also the brother of the late William Murphy. “Murph” was a life-long resident of Hanson, and had worked in the maintenance Department at Shaw’s Supermarket for many years. He was also a custodian prior to his retirement for the Canton Public Schools. He loved oldies music, sports, fishing and was a great dancer.”Murph” played softball for many years with his friends from the “Sunset Grove”. He leaves behind many friends who loved him. Graveside services will be held on Saturday March 22nd at 10:00AM at the Northville Cemetery, Oak St. East Bridgewater. Hanson – Jason Paul Lundgren 24, died Wednesday April 16 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born in Boston and raised in Hanson, he was the beloved son of David and Susan (Wright) Lundgren. Jason was a graduate of South Shore VoTec High School, Class of 2008 and had attended the PowerSport Institute for motorcycle repair in Cleveland, Ohio. For several years, he had been a proud member of the Movers’ Union, Local #25. Jason was a true “outdoors man” enjoying hunting, fishing, jet skiing and his motorcycle. He was a member of the Pembroke Gun Club. In addition to his loving parents he is survived by his brother John Lundgren and his sister Kristen Lundgren both of Hanson, his grandmothers Elizabeth Lundgren of Hanson and Geraldine Wright of Whitman. He is also survived by his niece Emily as well as many aunts, uncle and cousins. He was the grandson of the late John Lundgren and Lawrence Wright. His funeral service will be held Wednesday April 23 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday April 22 from 4-8 PM. Donations in his name may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.

Jacqueline R. (Paiva) Hennebury, 77, of Hanson, passed away on Friday May 23rd in the Wingate at Silverlake, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Clinton J. Hennebury. She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Joseph and Adalaide (Bowker) Paiva. Jacqueline was brought up in Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High School. She has been a Hanson resident for 50 years, a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Church and a member of the sodality and the PPC Council. She was also a Eucharistic Minister Jacqueline loved to travel to the beaches and watch the ocean on Cape Cod, she also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Lee of East Bridgewater, Kathleen Mary Elizabeth Hennebury and her husband Robert Shea of NC formerly of NH and Nancy Smith and her husband Kevin of East Bridgewater, her son-in-law Douglas Lee of Plymouth, her sister-in-law Jeannette Paiva of Bridgewater; also her grandchildren, Meghan Lee, Kaeleigh Smith, Kevin Smith, Peter Lee and Sarah Smith, also; step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Paiva, Jr. Her funeral services will be held on May 28th at 9:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Hanson.
